The Theology of the Body Institute presents “Theology of the Body and Priestly Mission,” the third of a three-part retreat series entitled, “In the Person of Christ: Theology of the Body and the Catholic Priesthood.” Your retreat will be guided by Reverend Michael Nixon, priest of the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee, and TOBI Director of Ongoing Formation and Consecrated Virgin, Jen Settle.
This retreat, inspired by the writings of St. John Paul II, accompanies priests to a deeper reflection on their call to mission in the priesthood of Jesus Christ. Living the mission of Jesus as a priest in today’s world has its own unique challenges as we seek to proclaim the Gospel in a new Apostolic Age. This retreat will draw deeply from the Gospels, the Letter to the Hebrews and St. Paul’s letters, as well as the magisterial teachings and mission directives from St. John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis. Special attention will be given to the call to evangelize and make disciples, and how that can be lived more fruitfully as it flows from our life of priestly prayer.
Join your brother priests for a unique time of deep prayer, rest, reflection, and daily opportunity for spiritual direction and celebration of the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confession, which we hope will rekindle your zeal for your priestly mission.
